Child abuse and elder abuse are crimes that often go unreported and are often perpetrated by family members. This session will focus on issues facing those who work with children and elders victimized by crimes such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and financial abuse. This training is designed for those who work to create and implement programs, laws, and regulations designed to safeguard the health and wellbeing of tribal children and elders, including tribal council members, judges, prosecutors, defenders, court clerks, law enforcement, social services personnel, victim assistance service providers, health service providers, and youth leaders. This session offers substantive procedural & practical info. to effectively assess and address elder and child abuse and neglect in Indian country.
